This flexibly-staffed class series specification describes the entry level of the Management Associate classification series. Under supervision, this position will receive training and guidance performing entry level, technical, or administrative work; and to perform related work as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This flexibly-staffed class series specification describes two levels of the Management Associate I/II classifications. This classification is countywide and can be staffed in multiple operating departments within the County of Alameda. Incumbents at the Management Associate I level typically work as an entry-level member of a team or are assigned to assist with independent studies of a well defined and limited nature. Incumbents’ work is subject to detailed and frequent review, which lessens as they become more experienced. With experience, incumbents are gradually assigned projects with greater scope and responsibility. Incumbents in the class of Management Associate I are expected to gain experience and demonstrate proficiency which qualifies them to promote to the higher level after the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time service. Appointment at the Management Associate I level will not be extended beyond one year. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
Education: Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university, (180 quarter units or 120 semester units) in a field related to the current assignment where appointment is made. AND Experience: The equivalent of six (6) months of full-time verifiable work experience within the past three (3) years. NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination. |
