This flexibly-staffed class series specification describes the journey level of the Management Associate classification series. Under direction at the II level, this position will receive training and guidance performing journey level, technical, or administrative work; and to perform related work as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This flexibly-staffed class series specification describes two levels of the Management Associate classifications. This classification is countywide and can be staffed in multiple operating departments within the County of Alameda. Incumbents at the Management Associate II level typically work as a journey-level member of a team or are assigned independent studies of a well defined and limited nature. Incumbents’ work is subject to detailed and frequent review, which lessens as they become more experienced. With experience, incumbents are gradually assigned projects with greater scope and responsibility. At the II level, incumbents assume greater development of the scope of work, project responsibility, and independence. Assignments in this classification is expected to only last up to twenty-four (24) months as expectations are that employees will be preparing to secure permanent employment within a County of Alameda operating department. Appointments will not last beyond the 24 month time period. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
EITHER I Experience: The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in the class of Management Associate I in the Alameda County classified service. OR II Education: Possession of a post graduate degree in a field related to the current assignment where appointment is made. AND Experience: The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience, at a journey-level or higher, supporting a technical, administrative, and organizational function in a private or public entity.
