DESCRIPTION
|
Under general supervision perform complex and technical work requiring the exercise of considerable initiative and judgment. The technical aspects require specialized knowledge of Civil Service Rules, salary administration, processing payroll and personnel related transactions; and other related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES The Human Resource Validation Processor positions are located in the Human Resource Services Department. Incumbents in this class have countywide responsibility for complex, technical review and validation of workforce, salary administration, personnel and payroll transactions within Alameda County's rules and regulations. |
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
|
NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Each individual in the classification does not necessarily perform all duties listed.
1. Reviews and processes personnel and payroll actions related to new hires, demotions, pay rate changes, position changes, promotions, rehires and transfers; inputs data; reviews position availability, specialty designation requirements and eligibility for appointment. 2. Reviews assigned daily unapproved transaction reports and prioritizes pending actions by type of transaction and effective date. 3. Contacts departments/agencies for clarification on employee transactions of missing documents or data; inputs data field changes that impact other modules e.g. benefits, time and labor, payroll. 4. Reviews employee transactions and required supporting documents from the department to validate appointments; liaison with Central Payroll and other county departments to correct employee data causing errors in payroll calculations; performs salary calculations and verifies salary step and next step due; assigns valid pay groups to approve transactions. 5. Reviews reports to identify employees with personnel transactions that are pending, receives, reviews and approves transactions for active employees. 6. Reviews, calculates and updates seniority history for those employees having adjustments as a result of military leave, seniority discrepancies; disability leave. 7. Run and review system queries to audit database. |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Either I Completion of the Alameda County Management Academy "Management & Supervision Certificate Program" may substitute for six (6) months of the required qualifying experience. |
