Under general direction of the Division Director of Public Health, this position plans, organizes and administers program activities for a variety of client service areas of the Family Health Services Division such as, CCS California Children’s Services, MPCAH (Maternal, Paternal, Child, and Adolescent Health and CHDP Children’s Health Disability Programs. .
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This single position class is located in the Health Care Services Agency and reports to the Division Director of Public Health for Family Health Services. This position provides supervision and work coordination to professional staff responsible for programmatic services and oversight in a variety of client service areas of the Family Health Services Division. The Family Health Services Coordinator oversees and integrates technical services and facilitates interagency collaboration for multiple, related, and administratively complex, state/federally funded programs where client services are provided by CBO's, other contract providers, agencies, hospitals, institutions and/or County staff. Successful performance of the work requires both a high level of technical programmatic knowledge and well-developed supervisory and collaborative skills. Duties may include long-range strategic planning, distribution of state grants, and oversight of complex projects, a wide variety of independent and inter-related functions for the Family Health Services Division; and to do related work as required. This class is distinguished from Supervising Program Specialist in that the latter is a first-level supervisory class and provides program planning and evaluation support to a specific operational unit within a department, and it does not have the countywide program responsibilities. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Either I
Education: Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public policy, public administration, health care administration, social science or related field. (Additional experience as outlined below may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.) And Experience: The equivalent of five years of full-time experience in program administration, management, planning and evaluation in the oversight of direct delivery of a health care or social services program to clients focusing on Children and Family Service Systems at a level equivalent to or higher than the County’s Program Specialist class. Or II Experience: Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and relevant experience as described above in pattern I. License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicles Operator’s license. NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination. |
