DESCRIPTION
|
Under close supervision, to receive training in the operation and maintenance of microfilm, duplication, developing and viewing machines and equipment; to duplicate documents, records, maps and other materials; and to do related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This is a trainee-level class in the Microfilm Technician series. Incumbents receive on-the-job training in microfilming, and will perform increasingly difficult work as experience and knowledge is gained in work assignments. Incumbents are expected to promote to Microfilm Technician after successful completion of training. This class is distinguished from Microfilm Technician in that the latter class is the journeyman level. |
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
|
NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Each individual in the classification does not necessarily perform all duties listed.
1. Prepare documents for filming by checking documents for staples, tape, torn edges. 2. If necessary, remove staples and secure torn areas with new tape. 3. Film books, maps, and other documents using Planetary and Rotary “700” cameras. 4. Develop film by running through automatic developing machines. 5. Edit film using a densitometer to check density of film and reader viewer to detect blurrs, scratches, or overlapping images. 6. Inspect rolls of film to assure they are readable. |
