DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, these positions located within the Alameda County Workforce Development Board Department of the Social Services Agency provide operational and procedural support to workforce services representatives; conduct orientations and provides technical assistance and training to workforce services representatives regarding determination of program eligibility for workforce services programs; completion of participant applications; computation of participant/family income based on federal guidelines, file management and data input for program performance. Incumbents convene ongoing/regular meetings for contracted workforce services providers; input client eligibility/case data provided by workforce services representatives into client tracking and case management systems; perform periodic informal and annual formal case-file audits; perform reviews for accurate and complete completion of forms and documents related to participant training; and to do related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES
The Workforce Services Technician is a specialized classification located in the Workforce Development Board Department, in the Social Services Agency. A Workforce Services Technician requires advanced knowledge of complex workforce services program eligibility, the required documentation of customer service flow from enrollment to follow-up, and how such documentation relates to overall performance. Incumbents in this class provide technical assistance and operational and procedural support to workforce services representatives in the areas of customer eligibility, regulation compliance, program performance, and customer service flow. Incumbents in this class also perform regular, ongoing, and annual program monitoring reviews in these general areas including recommending corrective action. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
EITHER I
Experience:
The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in the class of Specialist Clerk II or in an equivalent or higher classification in the Alameda County classified service.
OR II
Education:
The equivalent of two (2) years of college (90 quarter units or 60 semester units) from an accredited college or university.
AND
Experience:
The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time administrative experience which has included some combination of document review and processing, administrative or financial recordkeeping and/or office management.
Substitution:
Additional experience as outlined in pattern II may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.
License:
Possession of a valid California Driver's license.
