DESCRIPTION
|
Under general direction to plan, organize and direct the operations of the Social Service Agency’s Veterans Service Office to provide aid and assistance to Veterans and their dependents in obtaining the rights and entitlements provided by Federal, State and local legislation; and perform other duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This single position class reports directly to the Program Manager for Adult Services in the Social Services Agency, and is responsible for a variety of administrative, coordination, supervisory, planning and public relations functions relative to the on-going operations of the Veterans Services Office. It is distinguished from the lower-level class of Veterans Claims Representative in that the Veterans Service Officer serves as the representative of the Social Services Agency in any matters pertaining to veterans affairs, including acting as liaison with the California Department of Veterans Administration. |
