DESCRIPTION
|
Under the general direction of the Board of Supervisors, serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Alameda County and as the Department Head for the Information Technology Department (ITD). The CIO’s responsibilities are to direct and administer the overall activities of the Department, ensure County agencies/departments are meeting their program responsibilities, and, in conjunction with the County Administrator's Office, impart the management control necessary to guarantee the most effective and secure use of information technology resources county-wide. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES
This is a single-position classification and highest-level Information Technology position in the in the County service. This position is appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Reporting directly to the CIO, are the Assistant Chief Information Officer and the Chief Technology Officer who have responsibility for providing the overall coordination and direction of assigned divisions and all departmental activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
EITHER I
Experience:
The equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in the County classifications of Assistant Chief Information Officer or Chief Technology Officer.
OR II
Experience:
The equivalent of ten (10) years of full-time, increasingly responsible information technology experience including significant executive-level responsibility for the management of people and the implementation of complex systems and programs, the management and coordination of infrastructure projects in a large enterprise environment, combined with strong knowledge and familiarity with operating budgets, funding sources, and strategic planning/initiatives.
