DESCRIPTION
|
Under general direction, to plan, implement and monitor a comprehensive Office/Department safety and accident prevention program; and to perform other related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES
This class is located in the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office and the Probation Department. This classification in the Sheriff’s Office and the Probation Department reports directly to the Chief Departmental Human Resources Administrator or a Division Commander. Incumbents in this classification are responsible for all aspects of the office's/department’s safety program, including safety policies, procedures, and training.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
Education:
Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public health, occupational health, industrial hygiene, environmental health, or a closely related field.
AND
Experience:
The equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in a position responsible for a comprehensive safety and accident prevention program in an organization with a large and diverse employee group.
License:
Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
