DESCRIPTION
|
Engineering CAD/D Technicians perform a variety of complex office and field engineering work; establish and maintain detailed and inter-related engineering record-keeping systems; perform computerized technical drafting/design work; and perform related work as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES The Engineering CAD/D Technician classes are found only in the Public Works Agency. This position may provide lead supervision for a specialized program. Engineering CAD/D Technician III’s are characterized by being assigned program responsibilities for operations which require extensive specialized knowledge, independent initiative and public and inter-agency contact. Incumbents at this level perform the most complex range of duties in this class and are independently responsible for assignments involving the full scope of responsibilities. This position may train and provide lead supervision. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
EITHER I Experience: The equivalent of one year of experience in the class of Engineering CAD/D Technician II in the Alameda County classified service. (Non-classified includes District Attorney’s Office, Hospital Authority, and the Consolidated Courts.) OR II Education: Possession of an Associate of Arts Degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting Technology or a closely related field from an accredited educational institution, AND Experience: The equivalent of three (3) years of full-time increasingly responsible and varied sub-professional civil engineering drafting experience, in the preparation of civil engineering contract drawings and plans using CAD. OR III Experience: The equivalent of four (4) years of recent full-time increasingly responsible and varied sub-professional civil engineering experience in the preparation of civil engineering contract drawings and plans using CAD.
License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license. NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination. |
