DESCRIPTION
|
Under general direction, plans, organizes, and manages the operations and functions of the Mapping Unit of the Assessor’s Office; supervises and oversees the work of Mapping Technicians performing routine to complex computerized and manually drafted line mapping functions; and performs related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This position reports to the Assessor’s Information Systems Manager. The position is distinguished from the lower class of Mapping Technician III by the former having responsibility for the overall supervision of all Mapping Technicians. The Mapping Technician III performs complex mapping functions and acts in a lead capacity. |

Directs, plans, organizes, and reviews the work of the Mapping Unit staff engaged in the preparation and maintenance of assessment maps, the County’s geographic information system (GIS) parcel layer, and property description records and ownership records; applies current assessment law to the preparation of assessment maps and property description records; confers with section supervisors and coordinates the work of the unit with the department and others concerned. |
