DESCRIPTION
|
Under direction, to supervise, train and review the work of appraisers engaged in the appraisal of residential and rural properties and the gathering of data for commercial and industrial property appraisals; appraise commercial, industrial, residential, and rural properties as needed; present appraisals to the Assessment Appeals Board; develop appraisal procedures and forms; recommend appropriate personnel actions and perform related duties as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This class differs from that of Supervising Appraiser II which supervises the work of those who conduct appraisal of commercial and industrial properties. Supervising Appraiser I’s supervise and evaluate the work of the Appraiser I’s and Appraiser II’s and provide back-up for the Supervising Appraiser II’s in their absence. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
EITHER I Experience: The equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in the class of Appraiser III in the Alameda County classified service. OR II Experience: The equivalent of two (2) years’ full-time experience in the class of Appraiser II in the Alameda County classified service. OR III Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree awarded by an accredited college or university, AND Experience: The equivalent of four (4) years of increasingly responsible, full-time paid experience in real property appraisal work, and one (1) year of which involved supervision of real estate appraisers for ad valorem tax assessment purposes. License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required for all positions in this class. Certificate: Appraiser's certificate issued by the State of California Board of Equalization. NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above minimum qualifications in the announcement of an examination. |
