DESCRIPTION
|
Under close supervision, incumbents in this class are responsible for performing a wide variety of technical and paraprofessional duties associated with housing development, community development and/or homeless projects and programs and performing related duties as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES Housing and Community Development Technician I is located in the Community Development Agency’s Housing and Community Development Department. The Housing and Community Development Technician I is expected to gain experience and demonstrate proficiency in the areas of housing development, community development, and/or homeless programs eligibility, contract management including monitoring and reviewing invoices, gathering data and drafting reports. Upon completion of one year as a Housing and Community Development Technician I, the incumbent will be evaluated for potentially flexing up to the Housing and Community Development Technician II. The Housing and Community Development Technician I is distinguished from the Housing and Community Development Technician II in that the latter performs the full range of technical and paraprofessional duties under general supervision, once department and program policies and procedures are learned. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
EITHER I Experience: The equivalent of one (1) year full-time experience as a Specialist Clerk I or equivalent or higher-level classification in the Alameda County classified service. OR II Experience: The equivalent of two (2) years full-time experience related to housing, community development, homeless or service-enriched housing programs. Substitution: Completion of 60 college semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Special Requirements: Incumbents may be required to possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License and may be required to drive in the performance of duties. Incumbents may be required to attend night and/or weekend meetings. NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination. |
