DESCRIPTION
|
Under general direction, to supervise a shift at a Probation Department Camp treatment facility for juvenile wards; and to perform related duties as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES Positions allocated to this class are located at Los Cerros or Chabot Ranch of the Probation Department. Incumbents act as first-line supervisors for a medium-sized group of Deputy Probation Officers, Group Counselors, and Night Group Supervisors. This class is distinguished from the class of Institutional Supervisor II in that, unlike the former, Camp Supervisors supervise Deputy Probation Officers, as well as Group Counselors. This class is distinguished from the class of Unit Supervisor, Probation, by having a "custodial operations" emphasis in the duties and responsibilities performed, and by supervising Group Counselors and Night Group Supervisors instead of a greater number of Deputy Probation Officers. Camp Supervisors report to Assistant Camp Directors. |
