DESCRIPTION
|
Under direction, to supervise, review, and evaluate the work of a group of Social Workers; to maintain acceptable standards of casework practices; to train staff and maintain work standards; and to perform related work as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This is the first level of supervision in the Social Work series. Incumbents are assigned supervision of a group of workers to provide supportive casework services to clients who are in receipt of public assistance and related services in Alameda County. Positions in the next higher classification, Social Services Program Manager are assigned supervision over multiple units within a subdivision of the Agency. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
EITHER I Education: Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, social welfare, social/human services, sociology or other behavioral science. AND Experience: The equivalent of two (2) years of full‑time experience as a Social Worker in a human/social services agency, including one (1) year of full-time experience equivalent in level of responsibility to that of the class of Social Worker III in the Alameda County classified service. OR II Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, social welfare, social/human services, sociology, or other behavioral science. AND Experience: The equivalent of four (4) years of full‑time experience as a Supervising Eligibility Technician or Employment Counselor Supervisor in a human/social services agency. OR III Experience: The equivalent of six (6) years of full-time experience in the classification of Social Worker III or higher-level social worker in the Alameda County classified service. License: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license is required.
