Under general direction, on a consultative basis, to provide the Social Services Agency with professional services in the field of staff development, to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate programs for welfare services staff development; and do related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES Welfare Services Consultants act as specialists and consultants to the Social Services Agency in the field of specialized program development and professional staff development. This position differs from the class of Social Work Consultant in that this is a full-time position in the Social Services Agency with responsibility to review and evaluate alternative programs. |

Either I
Experience: The equivalent of ten years’ experience in the field of social welfare or public and business administration, at least two years of which must have included administrative or supervisory responsibility for the planning or implementation and evaluation of a staff development program for a large public agency. Or II Education: Possession of a Master's degree in Social Welfare and Counseling from an accredited graduate school of social work; and Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field background, And Experience: The equivalent of five years of increasingly responsible full-time professional experience in the field of welfare services or public and business administration, at least two years of which must have included administrative or supervisory responsibility for the planning, implementation and evaluation of a staff development program for a large public agency. Or III Some acceptable combination of education and appropriate experience. NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination. |
