DESCRIPTION
|
Under direction, leads, directs, prioritizes, coordinates, and reviews the work of a group of Janitors, Detention Facilities and/or Janitor Floor Specialists, Detention Facilities; and, performs janitorial work in a secure, 24/7 detention facility (Juvenile Justice Center and Santa Rita Jail); and, performs related work as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES The classification of Lead Janitor, Detention Facilities is located in the General Services Agency working in a county detention facility and reporting to a Janitor Supervisor II. The class of Lead Janitor, Detention Facilities is distinguished from Lead Janitor in that the former reports to a supervisor who oversees a secure, 24/7 detention facility and may be assigned to that type of detention facility. This class is further distinguished from the class of Janitor Supervisor II in that the latter represents the first level of full supervision over janitorial staff while Lead Janitors, Detention Facilities are solely responsible for providing lead functions over a janitorial staff. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
|
EITHER I Experience: The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in the class of Janitor or Janitor, Detention Facilities or in an equivalent or higher-level janitorial classification in the Alameda County classified service. OR II Experience: The equivalent of three (3) years of full-time janitorial experience in offices or an institution.
License: A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license. Special Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. May be assigned to work day, evening, night and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
