DESCRIPTION

This flexibly-staffed class series specification describes the journey level of the Audio Visual (AV) classification series. Incumbents of this classification, under general supervision, lead the maintenance and installation of a wide range of video conferencing and integrated multimedia equipment in the County’s boardrooms and meeting rooms; lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of audio visual and related systems; and perform related work as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES This flexibly-staffed class series specification describes two levels of the Audio Visual classifications located in the Information Technology Department (ITD). The Senior Audio Visual Engineer reports to an Infrastructure Services Manager. Incumbents are responsible for performing duties of an analytical and technical nature relating to the design, support and maintenance of AV and related systems, and leading projects within those systems. The class of Senior AV Engineer is distinguished from the lower-level Audio Visual (AV) Engineer in that the former is responsible for the planning of AV system design and enterprise solutions and works on projects as a team lead, and the latter focuses on analysis and technical support for equipment, related software, and video conference meetings. The Senior AV Engineer is further distinguished from the lower-level AV Engineer by having responsibility to direct and oversee the work of the AV Engineer. |
