Thank you for your interest in the position of Probation Training Manager. Your completed response to this supplemental questionnaire will be evaluated to determine your qualifications and must be completed properly in order to be given full consideration for the next phase in the selection process. Additionally, your responses will also be evaluated and used in the selection process in order to identify the best qualified applicants.

Responses should be specific, thorough and succinct.  A lack of adequate detail in the supplemental questions and in your application may result in failure or disqualification for this recruitment.  Clarity of expression, grammar, spelling and the ability to follow instructions will be considered in the evaluation process.  A resume will not be accepted as a substitute for a thoroughly completed employment history and supplemental responses.

Please describe how you qualify for this recruitment by selecting one of the options below:

Pattern I: The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in the classification of Staff Development Specialist or in an equivalent or higher-level training related classification in the Alameda County classified service.
Pattern II: The equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience managing a training program in a large public/private jurisdiction with experience developing and administering training programs in a criminal justice related field. Previous responsibilities must include managing and supervising training development/delivery staff.

Please give an example of a project (training class/course/series or training program) that you have been responsible for developing from initial concept to completion.   Describe how you tracked progress, measured milestones and the end result.  Did you delegate any part of the project and how were those decisions made?

Please describe your professional experience with the following:

  • Learning management systems, including implementation of systems.
  • Interacting and collaborating with executives and senior managers in areas related to training needs, implementation and staff development.
