Key responsibilities for this program include: partnering with operational staff to roll out recycling services; engaging and communicating with employees and management across all agencies to promote sustainable behaviors; ensuring compliance with recycling and waste laws; and managing a $1.2M annual waste budget. This position manages a temporary recycling intern. We are seeking someone with strong program and project management skills, a passion for driving sustainable action, and solid analytical capabilities who also loves to work with people and deliver great customer service. Though recycling and waste management are the primary responsibilities for this role, as a member of the Sustainability Office you will also have the opportunity to lead other sustainability initiatives to green County operations and services and to fight and prepare for climate change impacts in Alameda County.

Thank you for your interest in the Sustainability Project Manager recruitment, Examination #18-0176-01.  Applicants for this position are required to submit responses to the following supplemental questions. Your completed responses to the supplemental questionnaire will be evaluated to determine your qualifications and must be completed properly in order to be given full consideration for the next phase in the selection process.
