Thank you for your interest in the Division Director, Public Health position. Applicants for this position are required to submit responses to the following supplemental questions.  Your completed responses to the supplemental questionnaire will be evaluated to determine your qualifications and must be completed properly in order to be given full consideration for the next phase in the selection process. Please describe how you would apply and communicate public health principles as Division Director in the Public Health Department.


Please describe your experience administering public health care services (e.g., communicable disease and prevention, community health services, family health services, public health nursing). In your response, please explain the service functions you managed, the number of people you supervised, their organizational levels, the size of the agency or organization and the level of your direct supervision.


Please describe your experience planning and directing programs; developing objectives, procedures and goals, coordinating with other departments, programs, or agencies; and interfacing with community groups.

Alameda County has enjoyed improved health outcomes and increases in overall life expectancy.  However, persistent disparities exist in certain places and populations within the County.  As a department, we are committed to achieving health equity so everyone has the same opportunities to lead a healthy, fulfilling, and productive life.
