This position is located in the Juvenile Justice Center, a 24-hour Probation facility. Do you have any experience working in a correctional facility (in any job), or a juvenile detention facility?

Describe your most recent work experience where you either served or assisted in the preparation of food or washing dishes, pots and pans in a large cafeteria or dining room. (Large scale food operations may include but are not limited to hospitals, schools, prisons, nursing homes, institutions, restaurants, or military units in which at least 200 complete meals are prepared each day.) Describe your work assignments, the employer, the average number of people daily served.

Describe your specific work experience assisting in the preparation, receiving, storing, packaging, and assembling of meals, as well as, setting up food carts and assisting with food service.

Describe your level of knowledge and/or expertise regarding safety and sanitation in a kitchen or food preparation environment. Provide a comprehensive list of critical areas of consideration regarding safety and sanitation within a food preparation environment.

Please describe a work experience where you demonstrated the ability to maintain safety awareness. What steps did you take and what was the outcome?

Please describe your knowledge and experience with safety food handling to prevent cross-contamination. Describe a time when you identified possible areas of cross- contamination and the steps you took to prevent the spread of contaminated food. What was the outcome?

Please describe a time when you were unfamiliar with operating kitchen equipment, tools and/or utensils for food preparation. What steps did you take to learn how to operate the kitchen equipment and what was the outcome?

Please describe your knowledge in personal hygiene and sanitation requirements in the food service industry. Please list the personal hygiene and sanitation items required in the kitchen area when preparing food and/or cleaning.

I understand that a thorough background investigation of all prospective Food Service Workers will be conducted to ensure that they are suitable for work within a 24-hour Juvenile Probation facility.

I understand that Food Service Workers are assigned to work day, evening and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and that I may be assigned, and must be available for, any shift assignment.
