Your completed response to this supplemental questionnaire will be evaluated to determine your qualifications and must be completed properly in order to be given full consideration for the next phase in the selection process. Additionally, your responses will also be evaluated and used in the selection process in order to identify the best qualified applicants.

Information Systems Specialists provide consultation to departmental support staff and management. Describe your experience providing customer service and include the following information in your answer:

  • Brief description of the type(s) of support you provided (i.e., troubleshooting issues, training end users on software, etc.)
  • The levels of organization you have provided support to (i.e., line-staff, supervisors, executive management, etc.)
  • Methods used to provide support (i.e., in-person, remotely, etc.)
  • Environment (i.e., work pace, volume of tickets, etc.)

Describe the most recent complex software or hardware issue you had to troubleshoot.  What made it complex?  What steps did you take to resolve the issue and what was the result? 


Explain your role in developing and monitoring system security measures. Be sure to describe any experience in mobile security and the kinds of devices you've provided support for (i.e., laptops, tablets, smart phones, etc.).


Describe your experience utilizing and providing support in the areas listed below. In your response, please also explain any issues you encountered while utilizing or providing support in any of the areas, the steps you took to resolve the issues, and the outcome.
