SALARY RANGE

Clerk I/Clerk II - ($20.72 to $26.51/hr.) $1,554.00 to $1,988.25 bi-weekly

Steno I/Steno II - ($21.06 to $26.96/hr.) $1,579.50 to $2,022.00 bi-weekly

SHIFT HOURS

8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

JOB DECRIPTION

The District Attorney’s Office is presently recruiting for entry-level clerical positions to serve at one of five courthouse locations throughout Alameda County. The duties may include answering telephones, pulling and refiling case files, special copy projects, typing and/or word processing and various other clerical duties. Applicants must possess basic computer skills. Duties may be periodically rotated at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

In-house candidates will be considered for a lateral transfer.  Appointments will be based on an evaluation of experience, skills, knowledge and demonstrated abilities.

External Applicants must:

(1) Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. certificate; and

(2) Have the equivalent of one-year full-time experience in clerical work or completion of a clerical training course. 

Applicant must have knowledge of basic elements of correct English usage, spelling and basic arithmetic. Applicant must be able to pass a health history examination and LiveScan background check.

Selection Plan

Applications will be screened for the most qualified candidates to participate in an oral interview.  Candidates who are selected for the interview will be notified by telephone.  Depending on the number of qualified applicants, a second interview may be required among the finalists for the position.
