The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office is comprised of approximately 150 attorneys, 60 inspectors, 30 Victim-Witness advocates and claim specialists, as well as a variety of administrative, finance, and communications professionals. Our jurisdiction covers over 800 square miles and our staff work in 9 offices located throughout the County.

DESCRIPTION

The District Attorney’s Office is presently recruiting for entry-level clerical positions to serve at one of five courthouse locations throughout Alameda County. The duties may include answering telephones, pulling, and refiling case files, special copy projects, typing and/or word processing and various other clerical duties. Applicants must possess basic computer skills. Duties may be periodically rotated at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.

In-house candidates will be considered for a lateral transfer. Appointments will be based on an evaluation of experience, skills, knowledge and demonstrated abilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. certificate; and

  • Have the equivalent of one-year full-time experience in clerical work or completion of a clerical training course; and 

  • Have knowledge of basic elements of correct English usage, spelling, and basic arithmetic.

Applicant must be able to pass a health history examination and LiveScan background check.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruit candidates from existing internal empowerment programs and through outreach to ACFJC onsite and offsite partners
  • Work with clients to overcome barriers to employment
  • Work with clients to develop employment goals
  • STEPUP 2 Work classroom instruction, presenting professionally, mock Interviews
  • Promote and market employment programs through partnerships with ACFJC service providers
  • Participate in job fairs, community related job events and special events
  • Develop flyers and other necessary program materials
  • Participate in client case management
  • Conduct pre and post individual and program assessments
  • Ensure accurate and timely data reporting for all programs through the implementation of ETO system to support grants and program funding requirements
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Perform all duties will a trauma informed lens to meet client needs
  • Other duties as assigned
