THIS IS A NEW PROMOTIONAL ASSEMBLED EXAMINATION The eligible list resulting from this examination will cancel any existing list and may last approximately one year, but can be extended. Qualified applicants must be current county employees and have completed the equivalent of six months of continuous service following a regular appointment in the Alameda County classified service by September 13, 2024. A regular appointment does not include provisional, TAP (Temporary Assignment Pool), or STEP-UP appointments.

Alameda County Social Services Agency is currently
recruiting to fill a Division Director, SSA vacancy in Hayward, however, the
eligible list resulting from this recruitment may be used to fill future
Division Director vacancies within SSA. Applicants interested in applying
for the current vacancy and/or future vacancies are encouraged to apply.
The Position
Division Director, SSA plans, evaluates and directs the
operations and staff in one or more Divisions/offices in a department within
the Social Services Agency. The Division Director, SSA develops and
establishes overall divisional policies; sets goals and objectives consistent
with the overall goals of the Agency. Division Director, SSA also has the
additional responsibility for participating in the meet and confer process with

Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate will have a leadership style that is
positive, progressive and responsive. The Candidate will be politically
astute, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able
to represent the Social Services Agency before boards, commissions and
community groups relating to human and social services programs.
