PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Department of Motor Vehicles, Legal Services Division this class is accountable under authority delegated by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles through Section 14-4a and 14-11 of the Connecticut General Statutes for performing as a hearing officer for contested cases.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general direction of the Motor Vehicle Legal Services Division Chief.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class must possess and retain admission to the practice of law in the State of Connecticut.
APPOINTMENT
Appointed by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles in accordance with Section 14-11 of the Connecticut General Statutes.
