Assists the Adjutant General, with rank of Brigadier General, in directing the activities of the State Military Department and acts for them in their absence; plans and coordinates operating, training and other functions of the Military Department; does related work as required.
Exercises supervision over a group of civilian personnel and command over all State military personnel.
Appointed by the Adjutant General in accordance with the provisions of Section 27-24 of the Connecticut General Statutes. Must have had at least five (5) years of commissioned service in the Connecticut National Guard or the Air Forces of the United States. May not serve after reaching the age of sixty-four (64) years.
