PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities this class is accountable for assisting the Executive Director in administering the overall implementation of the anti-discrimination laws of the State of Connecticut, policies and regulations of the Commission and coordinating the various functions of the agency.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives direction from the Executive Director of the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Assists in interpreting and administering policies and programs established by the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities;
- Assists in managing work of the Commission;
- Directs investigation of difficult cases of discrimination;
- Supervises agency compliance activities;
- Coordinates public hearing activities;
- Acts in capacity of Executive Director in their absence;
- Performs related duties as required.
APPOINTMENT
Appointed by the Executive Director of the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities in accordance with the provisions of Section 46a-52(d) of the Connecticut General Statutes.
