PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection the Director of the Division of Scientific Services administers and directs all activities of the forensic laboratory including Toxicology, Controlled Substances and Chemistry, Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and Identification to provide evidentiary material resulting from criminal and civil actions in the state and ensures all accreditation standards are met.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An advanced degree in a forensic science or closely related field with eight (8) years of managerial experience in forensic science or criminal investigations with experience involving the administration of a forensic science laboratory.
APPOINTMENT
Appointment by the Commissioner of the Department of Emergency Management and Public Protection under the provision of Connecticut General Statues 29-7b.
