In the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Connecticut Valley Hospital, Division of General Psychiatry and Addiction Services and the Whiting Forensics Hospital this class is accountable for directing multiple clinical programs and administrative and/or support operations.
Receives administration direction from the Hospital Division Director or other administrative official of higher grade.
GENERAL PSYCHIATRY AND ADDICTION SERVICES
A Master's degree in a clinical discipline, public health administration, health care administration or hospital administration and seven (7) years of professional experience in behavioral health care.
WHITING FORENSIC
A Master's degree in a clinical discipline, public health administration, health care administration or hospital administration and seven (7) years of professional experience in forensic behavioral health care.
Three (3) years of the General Experience must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity directing clinical operations or the delivery of behavioral health care services. This experience includes the supervision of professional behavioral health care staff.
NOTE:
- This capacity is interpreted as planning, supervising, organizing, directing and/or controlling resources of a major subdivision of an agency or organization.
- For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor or above.
Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain the appropriate current license for clinical social work, marital and family therapist, professional counselor, registered nurse or clinical psychologist.
