PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Division of Criminal Justice, Office of the Chief State's Attorney this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in providing consultation regarding complex case presentation projects.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of an employee of higher grade.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
May lead lower level employees as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Consults with and assists administrative and professional personnel on the method of presentation for digital and analog/physical evidence;
- Organizes and creates digital evidence databases;
- Analyzes and resolves complex digital evidentiary issues;
- Plans office work;
- Establishes and maintains office procedures for each project;
- Selects effective media techniques;
- Researches, creates and implements new methods to best serve required purpose;
- Provides consultation and instruction in special media techniques necessary to obtain the desired results;
- Develops demonstrative graphics such as 3D digital models, maps, diagrams and illustrations;
- Digitizes VHS tapes, audio cassettes, documents and photographs and enhances quality to facilitate effective courtroom presentation;
- Provides technical support and training on various Case Presentation Software, equipment and investigative software applications;
- Assists in developing training presentations;
- Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Considerable knowledge of 3D and 2D graphic programs, Microsoft applications, Trial Director, and other related legal software;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Six (6) years of experience in commercial or illustration art, or engineering drafting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been in providing support for presentation systems and technology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
College training in a related field may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
