In the Department of Children and Families this class assists the Superintendent in directing the residential treatment program or facility operations.
Receives administrative direction from an administrative official of higher grade.
Assists in directing the staff of the institution.
Nine (9) years of experience in a residential or correctional treatment facility related to the agency's service population.
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been in a managerial capacity.

College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.

A Master's degree in management, social and human services or a closely related area may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
NOTE: Closely related fields are: child welfare, applied sociology, clinical psychology, child development, criminal justice, counseling, human development and family relations, human service, marriage and family therapy.
