PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Department of Consumer Protection this class is accountable for conducting field examinations of authorized charitable games and for providing information and assistance to permittees regarding the application of statutes and agency regulations governing the conduct and recordkeeping requirements of charitable games.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of a Consumer Protection Gaming Regulation Supervisor or other employee of higher grade.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
May lead trainees, technical and clerical staff in assigned areas of responsibility.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Attends and monitors the
conduct of permitted charitable games activity to ensure compliance with
applicable statutes and administrative regulations;
- Prepares required field
reports of permittee activity including but not limited to examination reports,
investigation reports, pre-audit field reports and physical inventory of sealed
ticket reports;
- Instructs bookkeepers of
charitable organizations on the preparation of required control reports and
records of receipts and disbursements;
- Conducts field
examinations of control reports and inspects gaming equipment used in the
conduct of charitable games;
- Assists with the
assignment of identifying numbers for all equipment used by operators and
dealers of gaming equipment;
- Serves as a representative
of the agency to witness the accounting of receipts at the close of the
operation of games of chance;
- Serves as a liaison to
municipal and other officials involved with charitable gaming matters;
- May prepare material for
or testify at administrative hearings;
- Performs related duties
as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of technical experience in business administration, investigation or accounting work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
- College training may be substituted
for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours
equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for
a Bachelor's degree.
- Successful completion of
a Connecticut Careers Trainee program approved by the Department of
Administrative Services may be substituted for the General Experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

required to travel.
- Incumbents in this class may be
required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
