In the Insurance Department this class is accountable for directing the programs and activities of a division.
This class is used in one of the following functional areas:
- Financial Regulation
- Legal, Legislative & Regulatory Analysis
- Life and Health (Actuary)
- Property and Casualty (Actuary)
Receives executive direction from the Commissioner or other administrative official of higher grade; consults with Office of the Attorney General regarding legal matters.
Ten (10) years of experience in one of the following areas:
- regulation of insurance companies
- policyholder services, sales, claims settlement, loss control, actuarial, contract development, investment, underwriting administration
- audit services in the insurance industry.
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been in a supervisory capacity over professional staff.
NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of an Insurance Principal Examiner or Insurance Accredited Financial Examiner.
If incumbents are reassigned to a functional area under a different class code and MP group level, salary adjustments will be made in accordance with compensation calculation guidelines. All merit system requirements must be met for appointment to class code 2857.
