PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Department of Education this class is accountable for technical and statistical work connected with the operations of the department.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the supervision of an education professional as assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
May supervise clerical staff as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Performs a variety of increasingly difficult statistical and technical education related tasks within a bureau or division of the Department of Education;
- Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Knowledge of
- principles and practices of public
administration;
- organization and operation of public schools;
- general office procedures;
- statistical methods and procedures;

- Ability to analyze and
evaluate applications and similar material.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of experience in technical work in an area of education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
- College training may be
substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester
hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4)
years for a Bachelor's degree.
- Successful completion of
a Connecticut Careers Trainee program approved by the Department of
Administrative Services may be substituted for the General Experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
