In the Insurance Department this class is accountable for performing the most complex tasks in directing various programs and activities of a division or office.
The Insurance Program Coordinator classes are structured into two (2) levels which are distinguished based on the complexity, breadth, and impact on operations and services.
The Insurance Program Coordinator 2 is distinguished from the Insurance Program Coordinator 1 by:
- Interacts extensively with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve issues with broad organizational impact related to the functional area and lead enforcement and investigative activities.
- Responsible for direction and coordination of a broad organizational unit or program comprised of operational or technical staff while assisting in the performance of the most complex work activities. Oversees complex teams with varied specializations, such as actuarial analysis, legal compliance, and policy development.
- Demonstrates subject matter knowledge as an expert and leader in the field, both within the agency and within the broader industry community.
Receives administrative direction from an administrative or executive official of higher grade.
Directs or assists in direction of staff as assigned.
Nine (9) years of experience in insurance regulation, the insurance industry, managed care or health care administration.
