In the Department of Labor this class is accountable for providing specialized employment services to veterans and other eligible persons.
This is the working level responsible for performing the full range of professional level duties in an American Job Center or outstation location. This class is used in the following ways:
- AMERICAN JOB CENTER: Incumbents in this class provide a full range of services to veterans and other eligible persons as provided in Title 38, Chapter 41, Section 4103A(b)(1).
- OUTSTATION LOCATION: Incumbents in this class provide case management and labor exchange opportunities to veterans and other eligible persons as provided in Title 38, pursuant to Chapter 41, Section 4103A(b)(1).
Works under the general supervision of a Labor Department Unit Director or other employee of higher grade.
Five (5) years of technical level experience in veterans employment and training support services, counseling, employment placement, public contact work, human service programs, community action programs, job service, unemployment insurance or employment and training functions.
- Labor Department employees who were in P-2 bargaining unit titles prior to April 19, 2002 and who remain continuously employed are eligible for the following class code and compensation level when appointed, promoted or transferred to this title. ("Continuously employed" includes employees who leave state service but are reappointed within one year. Employees who are reappointed after one year will be covered by the next bullet below.
4950 LABOR DEPARTMENT VETERANS EMPLOYMENT OUTREACH WORKER RC (SH 19)
- Labor Department employees hired on and after April 19, 2002 or who are appointed to P-2 bargaining unit titles on or after that date are eligible for the following class code and compensation level when appointed, promoted or transferred to this class title.

title for administrative purposes. As
such, a job class is not meant to be all-inclusive of every task and/or
responsibility.
