In the Departments of Developmental Services and Social Services this class serves as a means to participate in a formal training program to acquire professional experience, knowledge and skills for appointment to a designated Developmental Services Case Manager classification and to become eligible for a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional certification/designation.
This class is to be used for an individual who possesses a qualifying degree required of the Developmental Services Case Manager classification but lacks the required professional experience to satisfy the class Experience and Training requirements and the eligibility requirements for the National Association of Qualified Developmental Disability Program (QDDP or QIDP) certification.
Works under the supervision of a Developmental Services of Case Management, a Developmental Services Case Manager or an employee of a higher grade.

NOTE: A degree that meets the eligibility criteria for certification/designation as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is a degree in the field of human services, healthcare or education including but not limited to nursing, psychology rehabilitation counseling, special education or sociology.
This class is intended to permit the Departments of Developmental Services and Social Services to recruit and train individuals for the class of Developmental Services Case Manager. An individual may be appointed to this class for period not to exceed two (2) years. No exceptions beyond this two (2) year period will be granted.
