PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In a state agency this class is accountable for independently performing the full range of micrographic duties and micrographic camera operations and digital image scanning.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works under the general supervision of a Lead Micrographic Equipment Operator or other employee of higher grade.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

May lead lower level employees as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

  • Performs laboratory duties including unitization, conversion, jacket loading, splicing, quality control and indexing of microfilm;
  • Performs microfilm camera operations including preparation of copy, loading, filming and cleaning of equipment;
  • Maintains files, records and logs;
  • Produces accurate and accessible micrographic and digital image surrogates for documents;
  • Performs occasional storekeeping and delivery duties;
  • May shred documents;
  • May fold copies utilizing folding machine;
  • Performs related duties as required.

    • various micrographic equipment processes;

    • operate, maintain and adjust micrographic equipment;

    • utilize computer software;
  • Mechanical ability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

One (1) year of experience in technical mircographic operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

One (1) year of technical education in photographic sciences may be substituted for the General Experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Incumbents in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility and visual and auditory acuity, and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties.
  • A physical examination may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Incumbents in this class may be required to lift and may be exposed to noise from equipment.

In accordance with applicable collective bargaining agreement's compensation guidelines.
