In a state agency this class is accountable for performing the most complex tasks in the review of plans and specifications and inspection of contractors' work related to mechanical systems to ensure conformance to standards, codes and contract documents.
Works under the limited supervision of an employee of higher grade.
May lead lower level employees as assigned.
Five (5) years of experience in large scale commercial or public construction in mechanical systems.
NOTE: Large scale construction is interpreted as multimillion dollar apartment complexes, public institutions, industrial complexes or other building projects of similar size and scope. The construction of residential developments, small commercial and/or industrial buildings does not meet this requirement.
College training in engineering, architecture or building construction may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
Incumbents in this class may be exposed to some risk of injury or physical harm from construction site environments and a moderate degree of discomfort from year round weather conditions.
