The State of Connecticut Department of Correction is seeking a Supervising Nurse at Osborn Correctional Institution. This position is a Monday - Friday second shift, 35-hour per week position (2:00 pm to 9:00 pm).
"I started with correctional nursing in 2011, and it is the best decision I made for my nursing career. I applied for an LPN durational position in 2010, I got a call asking if I was interested in coming in for an interview and I said yes. That day changed my life, I began working at Corrigan and now, 10 years and 3 facilities later, I have become an RN and now a CHN (Correctional Head Nurse) while employed with the DOC, thanks to the wonderful benefits of career mobility and tuition reimbursement. Correctional nursing has helped me to develop great assessment and leadership skills." Alice Scott-Hinton, BSN, RN
This is a Hazardous Duty Position and offers a pension plan; It also offers excellent health benefits along with additional supplemental benefits. The DOC is pleased to offer perks such as excellent Paid time off, tuition reimbursement and licensure reimbursements.
