In this role you will be assigned to the Community Companion Home program within the Private Administration Division. You will have the opportunity to:
- Support at least 30 individuals living in Community Companion Homes.
- Function as part of a professional support team for a caseload of individuals residing in CCH’s in the eastern and central part of the region.
- Participate as a member of Interdisciplinary
Teams.
- Take the lead role in the Programmatic Review
Committee (PRC) process.
- Develop behavioral strategies and support plans, data collection systems.
- Train CCH Licensees in the behavioral needs of their individuals.
This is a full-time, 40 per week, 1st shift position. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm with Saturday & Sunday as the regular days off (RDO). Work schedule flexibility is required in order to meet the demands of the job. This position will be based out of the East Hartford office with an anticipated relocation to the Willimantic office.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state health care facility, community based health care program or correctional facility, this class is accountable for conducting evaluations and therapy and providing services involving behavior modification, data collection and analysis, educational/vocational assessment and placement and/or program development and evaluation under close supervision.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Under supervision, develops and implements behavioral programs and/or individual treatment plans and trains direct care staff in their implementation.
- Observes individual behavior.
- Collects individual behavioral and environmental data.
- Consults with allied professionals, families, direct care staff and community liaison workers on treatment planning, therapies and/or individual cases.
- Prepares case notes and progress notes.
- Participates in behavior analysis and adjustment, milieu therapy, research, educational/vocational assessment and placement, rehabilitation, data collection and analysis, program development and evaluation, behavioral techniques and community outreach.
- May have exposure to administration of tests as assigned by supervisor which can include inventories and objective measures.
- Participates in clinical and interdisciplinary case conferences and staff meetings.
- May provide consultation according to specialized expertise.
- May serve as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Knowledge of general psychological theory and its application to treatment, rehabilitation and research programs; knowledge of statistics, data interpretation and experimental design; knowledge of diagnostic procedures and their use in developing treatment plans; considerable interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to develop treatment plans; ability to conduct individual and group psychotherapy; ability to provide consultation and training services; ability to utilize computer software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
A Master's or Doctorate degree in psychology, educational psychology, rehabilitative psychology, community psychology, experimental psychology or other related degree from a program accredited by a regional educational board and one (1) year of experience in treating and/or working with the individuals in the appropriate specialty serviced by the agency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing clinical interventions in multiple languages such as American Sign Language and Picture Exchange Communication System.

Experience with medical conditions and how psychotropic medications impact behavioral presentation and side effects/symptoms that can mimic a psychiatric presentation.

Experience with family systems theories and navigating family dynamics through clinical work with families and education.

Experience creating positive behavioral support plans and tracking data to identify possible functions of a problem behavior which can include creating clinical treatment plans in inpatient, outpatient or at home services.

Experience using Microsoft Word for letter writing, Powerpoint for creating educational presentations, Outlook for managing and prioritizing schedules and tasks, and Excel for entering data, creating formulas, as well as graphing data.

Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.

Experience coordinating with community providers, hospitals (medical or psychiatric), skilled nursing facilities, schools, correctional facilities, etc. in discharge planning, making referrals, coordinating follow up services, and helping to establish community resources.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
2. Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbents in this class may be required to lift and restrain individuals; may have some exposure to communicable/infectious diseases and to risk of injury from individuals.
