THE POSITION
We are seeking a qualified individual for the position of Nurse within the Addiction Services Divsion (ASD), Merritt 2 A/B Male Rehab. The reporting location is 1000 Silver Street, Middletown, CT 06457. This position is full-time, 35 hours per week, second shift, with a work schedule of 3:00pm to 11:30pm, 72-72-72, and every other weekend and holidays. The position number is 25590.
Merritt 2 A/B is a 30-bed male intensive rehabilitation unit using evidence-based practices with an emphasis on gender-specific treatment trauma informed services guide aspects of care planning. As part of the discharge planning process, clients are assisted in connecting to continuing care and associated community support services, including medication assisted treatment when indicated.
Our mission is to work to stabilize, assist clients in develop coping skills, and help clients move into the recovery zone. We provide services to individuals requiring an inpatient level of care as a consequence of their dependence on alcohol or other drugs; safely restore people with acute alcohol or other drug dependence to an appropriate level of physical and mental health in a caring, therapeutic environment; provide clients with an optimal range and intensity of rehabilitative services that will empower them to successfully cope with the next phase of their recovery efforts; and assist clients in making connections with a community resource network that will support their recovery, medical and psychiatric needs following discharge. These programs are evidence-based practices with an emphasis on gender-specific treatment and trauma informed services guide aspects of care planning.
The Nurse is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for Nurses who are compassionate and can assist people through the recovery process and make a difference in their lives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license or temporary permit as a Registered Professional Nurse in Connecticut.
2. Incumbents in this class may be required to be fluent in a foreign language or proficient in the use of the American Sign Language in certain designated positions.
3. Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
