The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) is accepting applications for a Registered Nurse (Position# 44836) for the Manhasset unit at the Albert J. Solnit Children's Center-South Campus, located at 915 River Road in Middletown, CT. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), the first shift hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The schedule is as follows:
Week 1: Friday and Wednesday off
Week 2: Saturday and Sunday off
The Albert J. Solnit Children's Center-South Campus is located at 915 River Road in Middletown, CT. This is state-administered Psychiatric facility for Connecticut's children who are under the age of eighteen, located on a 67-acre campus overlooking the Connecticut River. The center provides comprehensive care to children and adolescents with severe mental illness and related behavior and emotional problems who cannot be safely assessed or treated in a less restrictive setting.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class is accountable for providing a full range of professional nursing care.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license or temporary permit as a Registered Professional Nurse in Connecticut.
2. Incumbents in this class may be required to be fluent in a foreign language or proficient in the use of the American Sign Language in certain designated positions.
3. Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
