In this role, you would receive training in and then work independently with our AJC partnership to help provide a compliment of employment service support to our community. Along with other duties as needed, we would entrust you to:
- Conduct Initial Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) appointments with claimants
- Register/Enroll customers in Wagner-Peyser via the state's workforce development business system, CTHires
- Provide employment services (both virtually and in-person) to job seekers in the Montville American Job Center (AJC)/Eastern region
Position Highlights
- Located at the Montville American Job Center
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Hybrid Role based on telework guidelines
- Travel to the Danielson and Willimantic ACJs, or other locations may be required
- First year of training
- Bachelor's degree and/or qualifying experience: $51,072
- Master's degree: $52,920
- For current state employees, compensation will be in accordance with guidelines for computing salary adjustments set forth by the Department of Administrative Services, Determining Salary Upon Change in Class manual

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class is accountable for mastering the skills necessary to satisfactorily complete the training program for a professional position.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct Initial Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) appointments
- Register/Enroll customers in Wagner-Peyser via the state's workforce development business system, CTHires
- Provide employment services (both virtually and in-person) to job seekers in the Montville American Job Center (AJC)/Eastern region
- Facilitate employment readiness workshops to job seekers on topics such as, but not limited to: Fundamentals of Résumé Writing, Interviewing Strategies & Techniques, Successful Job Search Strategies and LinkedIn
- Provide general UI information/assistance
- Maintain and record messages, activities and case notes in appropriate business systems, CTHires / ReEmployCT (RESEA)
- Determine eligibility for Dislocated Worker status based on Agency guidelines and certify job seekers as dislocated workers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Oral and written communication skills;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be able to meet the experience and training requirements of the designated job class at the completion of the development program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing customer service to individuals from various backgrounds
- Experience writing, editing, and proofreading documents
- Experience speaking in public, in-person, and virtually in front of small or large audiences
- Experience recording information using various software systems
- Experience corresponding/communicating with individuals in-person, online, email, and telephone
- Experience using virtual platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc. to participate in meetings, attend trainings, and provide virtual services
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook calendar feature to create and schedule meetings, reminders, set up folders, create contact lists / groups, and the ability to engage in email communication with others
- Experience using Microsoft Word to create documents such as résumés, cover letters, memos, or other documents
