A class incumbent is responsible for the administration of a statewide program which includes planning, developing, implementing and evaluating program functions; establishes program objectives and ensures compliance with funding requirements.
Nature and Scope
An incumbent in this class works under the general supervision of an administrative supervisor performing program administration work for a small statewide program. The incumbent plans and develops program activities, prepares grant requests, budget requests and other financial management responsibilities related to the program. Work includes coordinating a marketing system and establishing cooperative relationships with program stakeholders. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining program records and preparing reports regarding program activities.

Plans, develops and administers a small statewide program; evaluates and recommends program policies, procedures and operational changes.
Develops program eligibility questionnaires and related promotional/informational materials regarding the program policy and procedures, fees and requirements.
Establish and maintain regular contacts with program stakeholders and explains policies, procedures and program requirements to the general public.
Prepares program budget, grant proposals and grant administration; tracks and monitors funding collected and disbursed.
Analyzes and takes corrective action regarding operating practices and procedures including personnel, workflow and cost reduction.
Provides information concerning the program to the media, community, and other interested groups. Establishes and coordinates a state-wide marketing system.
Prepares a variety of records, reports and summaries relative to the program.

Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Program Coordinator
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Six months experience in public relations, media relations or communications such as establishing and promoting a positive image with the public, informing or influencing specific audiences through the use of internal and external communications such as public forums, journalism, writing, marketing, advertising, promotions, or special events.
Six months experience planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs.
Knowledge of budget management and control which includes managing a budget for the purpose of keeping expenditures within the limitations of available appropriations and available revenue and maintaining, monitoring, projecting and controlling a budget within set policies and procedures.
