A class incumbent is responsible for coordinating and overseeing transportation escort activities for a health care facility.
Nature and Scope
A class incumbent functions with general supervision from an administrative supervisor and is responsible for supervising the staff who escort and transport residents to and from medical appointments and other outside activities. A class incumbent has frequent contact with agency supervisors, medical staff and other agency staff in order to coordinate scheduling.

Oversees resident-transportation operations to ensure that appointments are kept and that residents are transported to medical and other appointments.
Supervises unit employees by planning, assigning and reviewing work and evaluating performance; trains staff in applicable program procedures.
Completes weekly and monthly records such as the number of residents transported.
Coordinates with various facilities/offices to obtain appointment schedules and with the medical unit to arrange appointments.
Ensures that necessary paperwork is delivered in a timely manner as needed.
Transports residents in peak periods or in absence of staff; ensures availability of vehicles for daily trips.
Manages OMB Fleet Services Key Keeper Site.
Remains in building while residents are being picked up for appointments.

Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Transportation Coordinator Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Six months experience in recordkeeping.
Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
