The DNREC Climate and Sustainability Section is charged with reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change and improving Delaware's resiliency to impacts of climate change.

This position will lead stakeholder engagement and coordination efforts in support of the development and implementation of the Delaware Climate Action Plan. Responsibilities include attending workshops, community meetings and events, and engaging in planning initiatives like county and local comprehensive development plan committees. This position will participate in committees & workgroups and build trusted relationships with communities and stakeholders for implementation the Climate Action Plan. The incumbent will work on state efforts to help local governments develop comprehensive plans, sustainability plans, and climate action plans. Work with the Office of State Planning Coordination to integrate climate change and emissions reductions into municipal planning is also expected.
