Bellevue State Park is home to several venues available for weddings, celebrations and gatherings of all types. Bellevue Hall provides elegant indoor settings for receptions and corporate functions, while the mansion's grounds and gardens are the perfect backdrop for an outdoor wedding. The park was acquired by the State of Delaware in 1976.
Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Day Camp Counselor
1. Six months experience working with children and young adults such as academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer, classroom assistant or education teacher.
2. Knowledge of various recreational outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, boating, rock climbing, fishing or swimming.
3. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
Lead Park Naturalist
1. Six months experience planning and delivering interpretive programs for adults and children.
2. Six months experience coordinating and promoting special events or initiatives.
3. Knowledge of public speaking or interpretation.
4. Knowledge of natural history, anthropology, entomology, ornithology, cultural history, recreation science, and/or ecology.
5. Possession of a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
Assistant Camp Director
1. Must be at least 20 years of age.
2. One year experience working in a camp program for children or young adults.
3. One year experience in supervising groups, staff or volunteers.
4. Knowledge of various recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, boating, rock climbing or swimming.
5. Knowledge of local plants, animals or history.
6. Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.
As a condition of hire, applicants for this position must successfully pass a Swim assessment.
